Financial management

  • Payables and receivables management
  • Account reconciliations management and administration
  • Cash flow management and reporting
  • Cash balance investment management for maximising interest and minimising cost
  • Preparation of business financials in accordance with relevant external and internal requirements
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of Ruby Digital’s financial information
  • Ensuring the up to date accuracy of the business’ financials such that management can make informed decisions in real time
  • Managing the structure, cash receipts and movements of foreign currencies for low negative exchange rate exposure and maximum cost efficiency.

Financial strategy

  • Developing and iteratively improving the finance function’s architecture as it relates to resources, software, dissemination of key information and other business requirements
  • Input into the overall financial systems and processes of the company so as to improve efficiency and efficacy in operations
  • Financial banking/processing product infrastructure design and management for highest efficiency and efficacy with lowest possible costs
  • Developing financial strategies that align with the market and strategic goals of the business
  • The development of client profitability insights and strategies to increase the gross margin of the business to target levels per client
  • The analysis of company data for contribution and cultivation of new product, service and market strategies
  • Developing, maintaining and improving a budgeted forecast of business revenue, operating expenditure and other key income statement line items for strategic and operational insight and action
  • Research and analysis of funding and/or financial product opportunities to enable the scaling of the business at key intervals

Financial operations

  • Ownership of accounting software and its relevant integrations
  • Management of necessary information to process payroll including leave schedules, commissions owed and commission revisions
  • Ensure the adherence of all financial controls are adhered to
  • Management of any secretarial/CPIC administration required

Financial adherence and controls

  • VAT, PAYE, SDL & UIF recons
  • Improve financial controls within the company where the opportunity exists

  • 8+ years experience at a management or director level
  • Budgeting and financial management expertise
  • Sage Accounting and Payroll expertise
  • Good understanding of tax, labour and other financial legislations and requirements
  • Excel/Google sheets expertise
